A black hole is a region in the spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing- actually no particles and even light and other electromagnet escape from it. The theory of “general relativity” says that a sufficient compact mass can form a black hole.
The boundary of the region from which the escape is not possible is known as “event horizen”
